Forty-seven years ago, the world as we knew it ended. The Collapse wiped out most technology and scattered communities across what remained. But in Cambridge, Massachusetts, something remarkable happened - people came together.
Five guilds now keep Sector 47 alive: researchers who preserve knowledge, engineers who keep the lights on, runners who scout the territory, keepers who care for the community, and envoys who maintain alliances with the outside world.
And then the signal started. Deep in the tunnels beneath the old university, something from before the Collapse is transmitting. Project Meridian was supposed to be destroyed. It wasn't.

Every member of Sector 47 belongs to a guild. Your guild is your team, your family, your role in the community. Where do you belong?

Researchers & Archivists
The Seekers preserve and recover knowledge from before the Collapse. They catalog old-world tech, decode encrypted archives, and piece together the truth about what happened. When a mystery surfaces in the tunnels, Seekers are the first ones studying it.

Builders & Inventors
Engineers keep Sector 47 running. They maintain the solar arrays, repair water systems, and repurpose old-world technology for new uses. If something is broken, an Engineer can fix it - or build something better from the parts.

Scouts & Messengers
Runners map the expanding territory, carry messages between settlements, and explore the tunnels beneath Cambridge. They know every rooftop shortcut and hidden passage. When danger comes, Runners see it first.

Healers & Caretakers
Keepers are the heart of the community. They grow food in the rooftop gardens, tend the sick, preserve traditions, and make sure no one gets left behind. A community survives on courage, but it thrives because of Keepers.

Diplomats & Negotiators
Envoys connect Sector 47 to the wider world. They negotiate trade deals, resolve disputes, and maintain alliances with other settlements. When tensions rise, an Envoy finds common ground. They also manage the Network - the communication system that keeps everyone connected.
When you join a guild, you're paired with a fellow recruit. They'll write to you, share discoveries, and face the mystery together.

Seekers
Ink-stained fingers, candle wax on her sleeves, a notebook that never closes.

Engineers
Grease on her hands, burn marks on her sleeves, a grin that means something just exploded.

Runners
Mud on his boots, a flashlight always in his pocket, tunnel dust in his hair.

Keepers
Smells like rooftop garden soil. Always has extra snacks. Remembers your name before you tell him.

Envoys
River-wind tousled hair, a voice that carries across water, a contact for everything.

Solar lanterns glow amber at dusk. Wood smoke drifts from the fire pit. Someone is always practicing guitar badly.

Candlelight and silence. The smell of old paper and wax. A clock ticks deep in the stacks — no one remembers winding it.

Your flashlight dies ten feet ahead. Dripping water. The echo of your footsteps returning from the wrong direction. And deeper in — a faint green glow.

Wind off the water, the creak of tarred boats, signal flags snapping. Other settlements visible as columns of smoke on the far bank.

Flickering lights that shouldn't still work. A low electrical hum in your chest. The sharp smell of chemicals — and something sweet behind a sealed door.

Red emergency lighting. A thrumming you feel in your teeth. The air is warm down here. Unnervingly warm.
